Jorge Jesus has reached an agreement to become the new head coach of Portugal, ESPN reports on Thursday.
The 71-year-old Portuguese manager is set to replace Roberto Martínez, whose contract expired after Portugal’s Round of 16 exit at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
ESPN reported on Thursday, citing sources, that Jesus will sign a four-year contract with the Portuguese Football Federation, keeping him in charge until June 2030.
The appointment, expected to be announced later on Thursday, will mark the first time Jesus has managed a national team.
