South African Institute for Drug-Free Sport (SAIDS) CEO Khalid Galant has stated that drug testing is currently taking place at Craven Week in Gqeberha.
Craven Week is the annual showpiece rugby tournament for Under-18 schoolboys in South Africa.
Drug testing has been in sharp focus after it was revealed earlier this week that Junior Springbok Kai Pratt tested positive for an anabolic steroid before the SANZAAR U20 Rugby Championship in Gqeberha. The 18-year-old prop's test was conducted in Stellenbosch on April 10.
“We have both an education and a testing team out at Craven Week,” Galant exclusively told Independent Media on Thursday.
