Airstream just made hitting the road in style more accessible.

The company is doubling the size of its World Traveler lineup with the new 17RB. Despite being more than 20 percent smaller than the 22RB, the company’s latest single-axle trailer still has room for all the essentials, including a kitchenette, bathroom, and two sleeping areas.

The 17RB is being positioned as a “more approachable” entrance into the “Airstream lifestyle.” It features the same trademark riveted aluminum body and dual-pane acrylic windows as the 22RB but is just under five feet shorter. The shortened length (it measures 17.3 feet bumper-to-bumper) means the vehicle features two fewer windows than its older (and bigger) sibling, but the tradeoff is that it’s more nimble and even lighter, tipping the scales at just 3,150 lbs. The World Traveler has always been one of Airstream’s lighter travel trailers, but the company says the 17RB can be towed by an even wider range of vehicles, including crossovers, SUVs, and lightweight pickups.
