UAE-based airline major Emirates will introduce its flagship Airbus A380 on the Delhi-Dubai route from October 25 while expanding its premium economy offering to six destinations in India.The move, the airline said, is part of a broader rollout of its latest cabin products and customer service enhancements.According to the airline, the Airbus A380 will operate on flights EK512/513 in a four-class configuration, making Delhi the third Indian gateway after Mumbai and Bengaluru to receive the double-decker aircraft.The deployment, Emirates said, will complement the airline’s retrofitted Boeing 777 aircraft, which already operate on the carrier’s three other daily Delhi services in a four-class configuration featuring premium economy.Accordingly, premium economy will become available across all Emirates flights between Delhi and Dubai.Premium NetworkFrom October, the airline said that it will offer the cabin product on services to Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Kolkata and Kochi, expanding the airline’s premium economy network in India to six destinations.Speaking on the development, Adnan Kazim, Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, Emirates, said the rollout reflects the airline’s long-standing commitment to the Indian market.“We are pleased to introduce our highly anticipated A380 services to Delhi, a vital gateway in our network, from October. Given the strong demand for travel to and from India, it is an honour to expand our A380 footprint in the country, with Delhi joining Mumbai and Bengaluru as our third A380 destination,” he said.Other UpgradesBesides, Emirates will introduce its next-generation Airbus A350 on the Kolkata-Dubai route from October 25, replacing the Boeing 777 currently operating daily flight EK570/571. The aircraft will feature the airline’s premium economy cabin.Furthermore, Emirates’ five-times-weekly Kolkata-Dubai service operated by a retrofitted four-class Boeing 777 will continue, enabling premium economy to be available across all 12 weekly flights between Kolkata and Dubai.Additionally, by the end of October, Emirates will offer premium economy on four daily services from Delhi, 12 weekly flights from Kolkata, 22 weekly flights from Mumbai, nine weekly flights from Ahmedabad, seven weekly flights from Bengaluru and two weekly flights from Kochi.Apart from fleet upgrades, Emirates is also expanding its customer service infrastructure in India. The airline recently opened retail travel stores in Delhi and Mumbai and plans to establish similar facilities in Hyderabad and Bengaluru, besides setting up a dedicated call centre in Mumbai.Emirates currently serves Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Thiruvananthapuram, operating 167 weekly flights between India and Dubai with onward connectivity to nearly 140 destinations across its global network.Published on July 9, 2026
