The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls in Tirupati district would be completed by July 12 (Sunday) in accordance with the directives of the Election Commission of India (ECI), said Collector S. Venkateswar while outlining the district’s progress during a video conference held at mini-conference hall in Collectorate on Thursday evening.The video conference was presided over by Senior Deputy Election Commissioner of the ECI, Pawan Kumar Sharma, and attended by the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Andhra Pradesh, Vivek Yadav.“So far, 73.4% of the enumeration forms have been collected and 4.42% of the work related to verification of the ASD (Absent, Shifted, Dead) list has been completed in Tirupati,” the Collector said.The officials said that they were working to identify the outstanding forms and ASD entries and to complete the digitisation and uploading process within the next 24 hours, aiming to finalise the entire procedure by Friday evening. A special action plan was being implemented to complete the remaining work in the district, Mr. Venkateswar said.He further said that the special voter list revision programme will be concluded by July 12, followed by final verification and review processes. To accelerate the progress, two to three additional officials have been assigned to the booths that are lagging behind or have recorded less than 80% completion.“Booth Level Officers (BLOs) conduct door-to-door collection of enumeration forms during the morning hours, additional teams will join them in the evenings to expedite the processes of form verification, digitisation, and online uploading. They expressed confidence that the SIR programme would be successfully completed by the deadline set by the ECI,” the Collector said. Published - July 09, 2026 08:44 pm IST
