Deputy Election Commissioner of India Sanjay Kumar on Thursday directed officials to ensure that the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 of electoral rolls in Mandya district is carried out transparently and completed within the stipulated timeframe.Presiding over a review meeting with the District Election Officer and Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) at the Deputy Commissioner’s office on Thursday, Mr. Sanjay Kumar reviewed the progress of the SIR exercise and discussed issues related to its implementation across the district.He instructed officials to strictly adhere to the guidelines of the Election Commission of India to ensure that no eligible voter is left out of the electoral rolls while preventing the inclusion of ineligible voters. He also interacted with EROs from all Assembly constituencies and suggested measures to address field-level issues.The Deputy Election Commissioner directed officials to ensure that all identified Booth Level Officer (BLO) Facilitation Centres are equipped with the required infrastructure and computerisation facilities to facilitate the revision process efficiently.Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer Kumar briefed Mr. Sanjay Kumar on the progress of the SIR exercise in the district. He said public awareness initiatives had been undertaken to encourage citizens to cooperate with BLOs by providing the necessary documents and filling out enumeration forms during door-to-door visits.He added that BLOs have been personally visiting every household in their assigned areas to distribute enumeration forms and appreciated their efforts in achieving the distribution targets.Joint Chief Electoral Officer Yogeshwar, Additional District Election Officer B.C.
