The South City Corporation on Thursday identified seven locations within its jurisdiction to park vehicles towed for illegal parking, ahead of the enforcement drive scheduled to begin on Friday, July 10, by the traffic police against abandoned vehicles.This will ease traffic congestion caused by vehicles parked in no-parking zones and along roadsides, Corporation Commissioner K.N. Ramesh said. He added that the corporation has written to the traffic police, permitting the use of the identified sites for parking towed vehicles and ensuring their safekeeping.The corporation has acquired six towing vehicles and has handed them over to the Traffic Police Department.The identified locations include sites near Fortis Hospital on Bannerghatta Road, Ragigudda Metro Station, the defunct playground at Kadirenahalli, a two-acre plot at AECS Layout B-Block on Hosur Main Road, a 1.5-acre site near Nyanappanahalli Bande in Vijaya Bank Layout, a two-acre plot near Yelachenahalli Metro station, and space within the BTM Layout police quarters.
