A single influencer post can reach thousands or even millions of shoppers, making social media one of the biggest marketing tools used by fast fashion brands.
Let's be honest. Your favourite influencer is probably somewhere on your feed telling you to "run, don't walk" because there's another Shein sale, a Temu haul or a bargain that's apparently too good to miss.
But France has decided that enough is enough.
France has taken a significant step in tackling the environmental impact of ultra-fast fashion after the French Parliament passed legislation aimed at restricting the promotion of brands such as Shein, Temu and AliExpress.
The bill, which was first introduced more than two years ago, targets companies that rapidly produce large volumes of inexpensive clothing.
