MobLand is pulling Tom Hardy back in for the second season of the Paramount+ series set to premiere on Sept. 18, it was announced Thursday.
But the British star’s future as Harry Da Souza for a likely season 3 renewal hasn’t yet been made official.
“In season two of the Paramount+ original series MobLand, the Harrigans struggle to show a unified front as rising rivals threaten their fractured criminal empire – and Harry Da Souza, their street-smart and formidable ‘fixer,’ must walk a dangerous tightrope when tensions within the family intensify. As violence spills into every corner of their lives, loyalties snap, safety proves temporary, and the battle for power leaves no room for mercy,” a synopsis from Paramount+ stated on Thursday.
Hardy’s continued role as Da Souza remains in the air after his on-set behavior on the second season looks to have spooked producers. Hardy had apparently clashed with producers, including executive producer Jez Butterworth and others at David Glasser’s 101 Studios, the production company behind MobLand, which is filmed across the U.K.
MobLand has yet to be officially renewed for a third season by the streamer, with production expected to resume later this year if that happens. Hardy plays the fixer for a powerful organized crime family headed up by Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan as two mob families clash in a war that threatens to topple empires and lives.
