It's the pride of any loyal fan - a band t-shirt, an autograph, maybe a setlist.These are just a few things you would expect any admirer of an artist might try to collect.But rarely does this enthusiasm extend to collecting rubbish associated with your hero.Devoted Taylor Swift fans have been so desperate for a memento of the pop star's secretive nuptials, they have paid nearly £20 for bits of trash found near her wedding venue.The Shake It Off singer married NFL star Travis Kelce on Friday at Madison Square Gardens, where the couple staged a glamorous event for hundreds of celebrity guests.Some Swifties descended on New York in hopes of catching a glimpse of their idol at what some commentators dubbed a 'royal wedding.'But with the closely guarded event giving very little away - despite having more than 1,000 guests in attendance - it appears fans have had to resort to more imaginative mementos.Rubbish like cigarette butts and an ovulation test kit were picked up around the streets of Madison Square Gardens near the wedding by a New York-based artist, Justin Gignac, and posted online with a value of £18.63 ($25). A Swiftie waits outside of Madison Square Garden on Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding dayOutside of the venue, adoring fans and members of the media received the announcement via a large sign that read, 'JUST&T MARRIED,' which referenced the bride and groom's first initials What is perhaps more concerning is that all the items - described online as a 'sculpture' - were snatched up by Wednesday within 24 hours of sales starting.Items like water bottle caps, ring pop candy, police caution tape, straws, utensils and a single left AirPod were all up for grabs in the bizarre auction.The artist has claimed that he has already made £931 ($1,250) from his unusual merchandise and seals each item inside a tiny plastic cube - adorned with the couple's wedding slogan JUST&T MARRIED and the date of the wedding - to avoid leaking or smells. 'It's getting a lot of Swifties who just want a tangential piece of the wedding,' said Mr Gignac, who is selling the trash on his website New York City Garbage.'I try to commemorate cultural moments in New York City, and this seemed to be a big one, so just capturing a little time capsule from that moment in time,' he said.Gignac, who sells other city trash on his website, said he tied some of the items into knots to 'hammer home the wedding theme.'Following the success of this innovative limited edition, Mr Gignac said he is considering putting more items on the market.He had pointed out the garbage was from outside the barriers that surrounded Madison Square Garden for Swift's wedding, not from inside the venue. Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift married in front of 1,000 of their closest friends – including some of the world's biggest stars However, this distinction did not put off the most committed of Swifties and Mr Gignac said he is considering putting more items on the market following the recent success.Swift and Kelce cut no corners for their lavish ceremony, which saw the inside of the famous arena be transformed into a fairy tale-like garden with fake trees and elegant drapes, while an archway was set up where the altar was presumed to be.Sir Paul McCartney sang I Want To Hold Your Hand to the star-studded crowd and Adam Sandler surprised guests by being the officiant for the ceremony.The exterior of Madison Square Garden was bathed in pink light to mark the occasion, with giant illuminated screens displaying 'JUST&T MARRIED!' adding to the spectacle, and the Empire State building lit up in sapphire as the bride's 'something blue'.
