Alongside food and drink, fashion has become one of the most exciting things to shop for at the supermarket. From M&S’s summer staples to Hunza G-inspired swimwear at Asda, it's well worth keeping an eye out for affordable, trend-led pieces while you're doing the weekly shop.Activewear is one category supermarkets are getting particularly right, tapping into our love of comfortable, stylish sportswear that works just as well beyond the gym. In fact, I couldn't help comparing Asda's latest collection to the premium pieces I've been eyeing up from Alo.George at Asda has just launched its second fitness collection with Pussycat Dolls star Ashley Roberts, and it’s filled with trend-forward styles designed to take you from workouts to weekend plans. Think sculpting flared leggings, contouring vests and cosy cream sweat sets. It's a look that's long been synonymous with LA-based activewear brand Alo, where similar pieces often come with three-figure price tags.If you're shopping on a budget, Asda's burgundy capri leggings are strikingly similar to Alo's softsculpt low-rise foldover capri (£128, Aloyoga.com). And if you've had your eye on the brand's bootcut legging (£128, Aloyoga.com), George has a comparable pair of black flared leggings for just £20.Asda first launched its Gym Locker range in January 2025, and it has since grown to almost 130 pieces across men's and women's activewear and loungewear. According to the supermarket, the collection is designed to support everything from Pilates to strength training, with styles made for all fitness levels, ages and body types to help wearers feel comfortable and confident. With prices starting from just £14, the latest drop is packed with versatile colours and easy-to-wear silhouettes.
