Social media influencer Lorna Luxe admits she is unsure how to do basic things and doesn't have a bank card following the death of her late husband John Andrews earlier this year10:00, 09 Jul 2026Updated 10:00, 09 Jul 2026Social media influencer Lorna Luxe has opened up about all the ways she's struggling to cope on her own following the death of her late husband John Andrews.‌Lorna, 43, says she has never had her own bank card and is struggling with the admin of running a house including paying bills.‌The couple tied the knot in a lavish ceremony back in 2009 but John sadly lost his battle to cancer in February at the age of 64. Following his death, Lorna has been struggling to cope and admits there are many things she doesn't know how to do.‌"It was quite scary. My house is like falling around, there's lots of bills coming in. There's lots of bills related to John as well. That was quite a scary period. I didn't really understand, didn't have a bank card," she said.‌Speaking on Davina McCall's Begin Again podcast, she added: "I think day two of John dying I had to order a bank card because I didn't have one. Day three, I tried to pay a bill using his app and it wouldn't go through. And I rang the bank and the man went, 'Can I just ask, why are you trying to log into John Andrews's app'?'"And I was like, 'well, I don't have one.' And he was like, 'well, you need to get your own because you can't do that.' I just had to make a lot of phone calls and listen, I'm still sorting things out."Lorna admits she finds it tough having to juggle everything but "bit by bit" she is learning how to deal with the various letters she gets after not doing things for years.‌"And there was a lot, that first week I was like 'flipping heck, John. What the hell have you left me with here? It's a car crash.' But bit by bit, bite-sized chunks each day, I'll open a letter and we'll deal with it," she said."And it's still the same today. And sometimes I get a few letters through the post and I sit there staring at them and then at some point I sit down, right, come on, and they're not as scary as you think they're going to be."Lorna said she had lived "independently" before she met John but she found the "practical stuff boring" and was happy to hand that over to him to deal with. She explained how in the days before his death, John was worried about how she'd cope.‌"Well, like and this sounds crazy, right? Because I was married for 16 years with John...Met him when I was 25. I lived independently when I met him, but he quickly recognised that paying bills and doing practical stuff didn't really interest me. I found that quite boring. And he was very happy to do it for me," she said."And so over those years, he just bit by bit managed all of these things to the point where all I had to do was get up and be me and just go about my day. And it was all just sorted out. So when it comes to, I'd say around the end of last year, where we both went 's**t, we might not make this, we thought we had this time, we've not got this time."He really started to panic because he was like, 'well you don't even know how to pay. You don't even have your own bank card. You don't know how to do these things.' And he was really worried. The days leading up to his death, the last few conversations we had were about this fear that I was really going to be in the sh*t when he died, because I didn't know how to do anything."Article continues belowLike this story?
