Kazem Gharibabadi, the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic, reacted to Donald Trump’s recent remarks by posting a message on the social platform X. He labelled the U.S. President’s comments a sign of Washington’s “failure” and asserted that Trump must be answered with force.

Gharibabadi wrote on July 8: “Trump’s remarks today, ranging from insults against the Iranian nation to threats of further attacks, are not a sign of authority. Rather, they are an admission of failure for a policy built for years on force, sanctions, and threats, which ultimately failed to bring the Iranian nation to its knees. One must speak to the criminal and murderous Trump in his own language; it seems he understands the language of force much better.”

Simultaneously, Russia’s TASS news agency cited a senior Iranian official as saying that the Islamic Republic has halted all negotiations aimed at reaching a final accord with the United States.

The report comes as U.S. President Donald Trump, speaking on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Ankara, declared the previous temporary pact with Iran “over” and warned that American forces would likely strike Iranian positions again on Wednesday night.

Before meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Trump told reporters: “I just want to give a warning: we’re going to hit them very hard tonight.” He added that the future of the negotiations is highly uncertain, stating, “I don’t know if we’re going to get a deal or not. Maybe we’ll just do it without a deal.”
