July 9 (UPI) -- Officials have declared a mass casualty event in the Maryland city of Pikesville following a multi-vehicle crash that included a bus colliding with a commercial building. Dozens were injured, officials said.
Specifics of the crash were not initially clear. The cause of the crash was under investigation.
Baltimore County Fire Chief Joe Dixon told reporters during a press conference that the first call came in shortly before 6 p.m. and that about a dozen vehicles were involved. He said the scene is large, encompassing several streets.
"It's more like a war scene," he said.
