When the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released its weekly update on measles outbreaks across the country last Friday, it reported just eight confirmed new cases of the highly contagious virus. The good news is that the total reflects a significant decrease from the succession of 100 or more cases weekly from late last year through the spring.
