Singapore authorities have seized a S$55 million ($42.6m, £32m) luxury property and around S$1m in funds in connection with an alleged fraud conspiracy that’s been linked to a smuggling operation around high-end Nvidia GPUs, which are restricted from sale to Chinese entities under US law.
The property, located on Chee Hoon Avenue near the city-state’s Botanic Gardens, was allegedly purchased using around S$38m of criminal proceeds, police said.
Wei Zhaolun, also known as Alan Wei, was charged with money laundering for the purchase, in addition to other charges including fraud.
