At Baan Phadthai, the Thai restaurant that recently opened in Knowledge City (gate no 3), Hyderabad, you will find just 25 dishes on the menu. Notably absent are the familiar red, yellow and green Thai curries. The restaurant’s name, however, points you towards its star attraction — phad Thai. Its signature version features rice noodles tossed in an 18-ingredient sauce that strikes a balance between sweet and tangy. The 64-seat restaurant has deep-blue walls paired with vivid orange accents create a striking, high-contrast aesthetic. The design draws inspiration from the old shophouses tucked into Bangkok’s backstreets and neighbourhood markets: timber-framed facades, warm lighting, vintage curios and eclectic artwork.
