Ukraine has begun implementing 29 water supply projects under its regional resilience plans, with the initiatives expected to provide reliable water access to more than ten million people.
Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration and Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksii Kuleba announced this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
"Water supply is a basic human need and one of the key pillars of community resilience. That is why we have already launched 29 water supply projects under the resilience plans, covering 14 regions. These large-scale initiatives will ensure uninterrupted water supply for more than ten million Ukrainians," Kuleba said.
According to him, Ukraine is transitioning from a system that relies on a single water source to a more resilient and redundant model. This includes protecting critical infrastructure, creating backup water intake points, expanding autonomous water supply systems, and providing backup power for water utilities.
