Tata Steel has recorded 3 per cent growth in consolidated June quarter sales to 7.38 million tonnes, up from 7.19 million tonnes logged in the same period last year. Production in the quarter under review was up 6 per cent at 7.7 mt against 7.26 mt registered last year.India business drives production and sales growthTata Steel India’s crude steel production rose 11 per cent to 5.82 mt (5.23 mt), primarily driven by higher output at the Jamshedpur and Kalinganagar facilities. Domestic sales were also up 9 per cent at 5.17 mt (4.75 mt).Automotive & Special Products vertical achieved sales volumes of 0.9 mt. Ramp-up at Kalinganagar’s Continuous Annealing and Galvanising lines led to a 20 per cent YoY increase in high-end products, the company said.The Branded and Retail vertical achieved volumes of 1.7 mt, while Tata Tiscon sales grew by 33 per cent, and Tata Steelium, the cold-rolled brand, achieved a 41 per cent rise in sales.The Industrial Products & Projects vertical achieved sales of 1.6 mt, aided by demand from emerging segments such as Shipbuilding, Container and Data centres.Gross Merchandise Value from e-commerce platforms, Tata Steel Aashiyana, and DigECA was up 61 per cent to ₹2,200 crore.UK operations continue transition to electric arc furnaceTata Steel UK has been serving its customers by processing purchased substrates.
