The Andhra Pradesh Power Coordination Committee (APPCC) has formed a six-member committee to examine the implementation of the government’s order to increase the retirement age of the public sector employees from 60 to 62 years in the power utilities.A decision to this effect was taken in a meeting of the APPCC held through a video-conference on Wednesday, chaired by Special Chief Secretary (Energy) K. Vijayanand.The committee consists of G. Surya Sai Praveenchand, Joint Managing Director of AP Transco; P. Pulla Reddy, MD of AP Genco and CMD, CPDCL; CMDs of DISCOMs Siva Shankar Lotheti and Prithvi Tej Immadi, and legal adviser Siva Rao.They were given the mandate to do a comprehensive study, covering the financial implications, working conditions of the employees, especially those doing field jobs, and other administrative matters, and submit a report within 15 days.
