Madonna: Into the Groove will chronicle the pop icon’s massive 1985, during which she embarked on her Virgin Tour, played Live Aid, and starred in Desperately Seeking Susan
A new Madonna photo book is on the way. Madonna: Into the Groove is set for release this October, and will feature images by famed rock & roll photographer Ken Regan, plus accompanying text by former Rolling Stone staff writer Tomás Mier.
Madonna: Into the Groove features images of the Queen of Pop from 1985. That year found her on the Virgin Tour, performing at Live Aid, and starring in the screwball comedy Desperately Seeking Susan. Across approximately 200-pages, the new photo book features portraits of the rising star as she became a global icon.
Per a press release, the book will feature an array of photographs taken in both intimate and public settings. They include photos of Madonna in the studio and her bedroom, working out at the gym, and performing onstage.
Regan was one of the most prolific and sought after photographers of the 20th century. He began his career in the Seventies, and photographed figures and bands like Jimi Hendrix, the Beatles, and Bob Dylan’s Rolling Thunder Revue. He also shot the Kennedy family, the Vietnam War, and the Gulf War. In 2011, All Access: the Rock & Roll Photography of Ken Regan was released. He died of cancer the following year.
