The Kano State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has declared that its members in Kumbotso Local Government Area remain united and loyal to the party, dismissing claims that some members had defected to the National Democratic Congress.
The party described the alleged defections as a fabrication by the Kwankwasiyya movement aimed at diverting attention from what it called its “sinking ship.”
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the state Publicity Secretary, Auwalu Soja, said the party remained firmly rooted in Kumbotso, adding that those purported to have defected were unknown to its leadership in the area.
“The party stakeholders and loyalists in Kumbotso are satisfied with the infrastructural projects being executed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, including the AKK gas pipeline and the Kaduna–Kano–Maradi standard gauge railway, both of which pass through parts of the local government,” he said.
Soja added that APC members in the area also appreciated Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for attracting major investment opportunities to Kumbotso aimed at accelerating economic growth and creating employment opportunities for the youth.
