Udupi District Youth Congress chief Sajjan Shetty has filed a police complaint accusing one Siddhartha Shetty and five of his family members of cheating him of ₹10 lakh.In the complaint filed with the Udupi Town police, Mr. Sajjan said he had given ₹10 lakh to Mr. Siddhartha and his family members, who assured him that the money would be returned in five months. When he asked for the money back after five months, Mr. Siddhartha gave him a cheque for ₹10 lakh. The cheque was allegedly dishonoured for insufficient funds.When Mr. Sajjan questioned Mr. Siddhartha over the dishonoured cheque, the latter allegedly abused him.He then filed a complaint accusing Mr. Siddhartha and his family members of cheating. The Udupi Town police registered the complaint under Sections 318 (cheating), 316 (criminal breach of trust), 352 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace), and 351 (criminal intimidation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
