Jacque Joubert saved the life of a three-year-old boy with CPR
A selfless neighbour became a hero when he rescued a three-year-old from drowning in a residential pool in Ballito on Monday. The child, who was found unresponsive in the pool at their home in Salt Rock, has since been discharged from hospital and is recovering at home.
Jacque Joubert, 57, who was on leave from work on Monday, said he was grateful to be home at the time to assist with saving the boy.
The father of eight, who works in the hospitality industry, said he was distressed when he heard the hysterical screams of his neighbour’s domestic helper.
“I could not understand what she was shouting about. I asked my gardener to tell me what the woman was shouting about, but he did not seem to know. My neighbour was away on holiday, and his domestic helper and her children were in the house.
