July 8 (UPI) -- Fatherland has been announced to open the 32nd annual Sarajevo Film Festival.

The Cold War drama from Polish filmmaker Paweł Pawlikowski will screen Aug. 14, with the festival to run through Aug. 21 in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Fatherland, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May, stars Hanns Zischler and Sandra Hüller as real-life Nobel Prize-winning writer Thomas Mann and his daughter Erika, respectively.

The film follows the pair as they embark on "a challenging and emotional road trip" across Germany at the height of the Cold War, from U.S. dominated Frankfurt to Soviet controlled Weimar.
