U.S. President Donald Trump announced early Wednesday morning, July 8, hours after American strikes on targets in Iran, that he considers the memorandum of understanding and the ceasefire between Tehran and Washington to be at an end, fiercely criticizing officials of the Islamic Republic.
Responding to reporters’ questions in Ankara regarding the continuation of the ceasefire between the United States and the Islamic Republic, Trump said: “As far as I’m concerned, the ceasefire is over. I don’t want to deal with them anymore.”
He added that while officials of the Islamic Republic want to negotiate, he views continued engagement with Tehran as a “waste of time.” Using sharp language, the U.S. President described officials of the Islamic Republic as “evil, sick, and deceptive,” saying, “They are a bunch of garbage.” He added that he does “not like them at all” and that the United States has “wasted a lot of time with them.”
Trump also claimed that officials of the Islamic Republic have had him on their target list for years. He stated, “I’ve been number one on their list for years.”
On the sidelines of his meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, the U.S. President also spoke about the early Wednesday morning American strikes on targets in Iran, stating that U.S. forces had carried out a “very severe strike,” which he described as being “20 times more severe.”
