Russian forces have significantly intensified their shelling of Zaporizhzhia. To terrorize the civilian population, the Russians have redeployed a brigade—which had been terrorizing the Kherson region—to this sector of the front.
According to Ukrinform, Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, made this statement during the national telethon United News (Yedyni Novyny).
“For the past two weeks, Zaporizhzhia has been under intensified attacks. The enemy has changed its tactics and increased the frequency of drone strikes. The reason is clear to us—one of the units that previously terrorized the Kherson region has been redeployed to the Zaporizhzhia sector and is now terrorizing Zaporizhzhia. The enemy is using drones with artificial intelligence, FPV drones, and guided aerial bombs. We need to counter them,” he said.
According to him, the Defense Forces currently know how to deal with FPV drones, but the situation with the AI-equipped Molniya UAVs is more complicated.
“We’re looking for ways to counter them. Yesterday, only one of nine such drones flew into the city,” Fedorov added.
