McGregor has not fought since breaking his leg in a first round defeat to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 back in 2021. His last win came a year prior - a 40 second knockout of Donald Cerrone.Despite the leg break, McGregor was due to return to action two years ago against Michael Chandler, but was forced to withdraw from the contest due to injury. Many were sceptical about whether the Irishman would ever fight again, and were left stunned when his comeback was announced earlier this year.McGregor has two fights left on his UFC, and is hoping to get through them this year. "Yes (I would like my second fight this year). I wish for it this year.
