DUBAI: Photographs capturing the human stories behind the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar have travelled to Mexico City, where they are being displayed as part of an exhibition linking the tournament’s legacy with the current World Cup.
A selection of images from “After the Game,” one of the headline exhibitions at the third edition of Tasweer Photo Festival Qatar in 2025, has been included in “Journeys to Greatness: Qatar 2022 Legacy.” Presented by the 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum in partnership with Mexico’s Ministry of Culture through the Centro de Cultura Digital, the exhibition is part of the Qatar-Canada-Mexico 2026 Year of Culture.
Blending photography, multimedia installations and sporting memorabilia, the exhibition explores the effects of the previous World Cup beyond football, focusing on the people, cultures and communities brought together by the tournament.
