The Madlanga Commission of Inquiry hears Witness M’s testimony on drug-smuggling in-camera due to safety concerns

Heads of state, drug syndicates, and law-enforcement officers are among those set to be implicated in damning drug-trafficking testimony by Witness M at the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry on Wednesday.

The commission is hearing the testimony in-camera following the witness's application, which cites safety and security concerns for himself and his family.

Evidence leader Advocate Teboho Mosikili told the commission the application was unopposed and supported by the evidence leaders.

"At the heart of this application there are serious security and safety concerns for the witness that necessitate that we move for the application to safeguard the witness's interest so that his testimony be heard totally in camera," he said.
