US President Donald Trump said the memorandum of understanding with Iran aimed at ending the conflict is no longer valid, following a new escalation between Washington and Tehran.

Speaking at the NATO summit in Ankara, Trump said negotiations with Iran had become pointless after the two sides exchanged further military strikes.

“To me, I think it’s over,” Trump said, referring to the agreement reached between the United States and Iran several weeks earlier.

At the same time, he suggested that diplomatic channels could remain open, saying his negotiators might continue discussions with Tehran.

“I might let my wonderful negotiators keep talking,” Trump said, leaving uncertainty over whether the agreement had been completely abandoned or whether his comments were intended as pressure on Iran.
