The 36-year-old was stretchered off and needed oxygen after falling over the advertising hoardings during the celebrations overshadowing a famous World Cup win at the Azteca Stadium.‌Henderson, an unused substitute, was left stricken following the joyous celebrations with the travelling Three Lions after Jude Bellingham's double and a Harry Kane penalty booked their place in the quarter-finals. The former Liverpool captain remained in Mexico City, while his teammates returned to base in Kansas City, where he underwent surgery.‌The 36-year-old's dad, Brian, has revealed that he will remain in the United States for England's quest to the final on July 19 as they face Norway on Saturday for a place in the semi-final. Henderson Sr. told Mail Online: "It's his left forearm - he's just completely smashed it.‌"He's going to have a cast on and then it depends on what the experts say. He won't be leaving his team-mates. The BBC Sport TV coverage didn't capture the incident and during the celebrations, it emerged that one of the England party had been injured and was receiving medical attention.‌Newcastle United defender Dan Burn was among the first on the scene, and Brian says he waited through the night, and subsequently, the early morning for an update.Adding that a surgeon with experience of treating NFL stars had been lined up to treat the midfielder, Brian said: "At first I just thought he'd fallen. I thought he'd maybe scraped his wrist.‌"I had no idea it was that serious until they were interviewing Harry Kane and a trolley came past with Jordan on it. I could see him on there with oxygen and things."Straight away, I messaged his PA, who was over there, to try and find out what had happened. I was up all night waiting to hear the news. It's just a waiting game now."On Tuesday, Henderson spoke out on the incident for the first time.
