Apple TV has unveiled the first look at Nocturne, its upcoming crime thriller starring Liev Schreiber, Zazie Beetz, and Stephen Graham, while confirming that the series will premiere globally on October 30.Previously announced under the working title Lazarus, the 10-episode drama is adapted from Lars Kepler’s internationally bestselling novels Lazarus and The Sandman. The series will debut with its first two episodes on October 30, followed by new episodes every Friday through December 25.Nocturne follows Jonah Lynn, played by Schreiber, an ex-soldier turned homicide detective who leaves Philadelphia behind in search of a quieter life in western Pennsylvania. The hunt gradually becomes deeply personal, pushing Jonah to question how far he is willing to go to protect the people closest to him.The ensemble cast also includes Bill Camp, Rory Culkin, Chrissy Metz, Poorna Jagannathan, and Gary Carr.The series is developed for television by John Hlavin, who also serves as showrunner, writer, and executive producer. Rowan Joffé created the adaptation and executive produces alongside Hlavin. Emmy-winning director Tim Van Patten directs the opening two episodes and also executive produces.Produced by A+E Studios in association with Range Studios, Nocturne is based on the work of Lars Kepler, the Swedish husband-and-wife writing duo Alexandra Coelho Ahndoril and Alexander Ahndoril.
