Updated Jul 8, 2026 – 3.44pm, first published at 3.26pmG8 Education has been hit with legal action from the employment watchdog over allegations the embattled childcare provider, one of the largest for-profit operators in the sector, underpaid more than 1400 staff members by more than $2 million.Between June 2020 and July 2022, the Fair Work Ombudsman alleges ASX-listed G8 underpaid employees’ minimum rates and overtime entitlements, underpaid some employees engaged as trainees, and failed to pay first-aid allowances.
