Thailand's accommodative monetary policy stance and targeted financial measures are supporting an economic recovery, the minutes of the Bank of Thailand's (BoT) meeting on June 24 showed on Wednesday. At the meeting, the central bank's Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) unanimously voted to maintain the one-day repurchase rate at 1.00% for a second straight time and upgraded its 2026 economic growth forecast to 2.3%.
"Looking ahead, the committee assessed that the current policy rate was conducive to supporting economic recovery while inflation accelerated due to supply-side factors," the minutes said, adding that risks on both growth and inflation required careful monitoring.
The headline inflation rate slowed to 2.42% in June, inside the central bank's target range of 1% to 3%.
At the policy review, the central bank forecast headline inflation at 2.8% this year and 1.4% next year.
