Managing Director of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, Olubunmi Kuku.

The Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, Mrs Olubunmi Kuku, has cautioned state governments against embarking on airport projects without conducting thorough economic and feasibility assessments, warning that less than 10 per cent of Nigerians currently travel by air.

The FAAN boss stated this while speaking in an online public engagement over the weekend.

Kuku said while airports remain critical infrastructure, building and sustaining them requires huge financial commitments beyond the construction of terminal buildings.

She hinted that many proposed state-owned airports may struggle to remain viable if passenger demand and economic activities are not carefully considered.
