Three arrests have been made in Canada as part of a sweeping international crackdown on an organized crime group — one U.S. authorities say was linked to the killing of a B.C. Sikh activist, a crime that sparked an international uproar.

The Lawrence Bishnoi group was hit with a combined 24 arrests during what authorities called “Operation Hard Ball,” based in Canada, the U.S. and Europe, authorities announced on Tuesday.
