President Bola Tinubu has directed the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to conduct a thorough investigation into the activities of a “Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council” (PFIPC) and all related matters.

The directive follows huge public outcry over the allegations of use of forged federal government documents to secure appointment by Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew as the Director General DG of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council” (PFIPC).

He was also alleged to have used ” forged documents”, to secure an office space at the federal Secretariat Abuja, as well as caused a bank account to be opened in the name of the organisation at the Central Bank of Nigeria CBN, amongst others

The President insisted that ” all persons found culpable be treated strictly in accordance with applicable law.”

He ordered that the investigation must be concluded and a comprehensive report submitted to him within 30 days, according to a statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy
