The FDA granted accelerated approval to atacicept (Trutakna) to reduce proteinuria in adults with primary IgA nephropathy at risk for disease progression.
Data from ORIGIN 3 supported approval of the once-weekly self-administered injection, which works by targeting two key immunoregulatory cytokines -- B-cell activating factor (BAFF) and a proliferation-inducing ligand (APRIL).
