July 7 (UPI) -- One of the lead investigators in the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk testified Tuesday that alleged killer Tyler Robinson spoke to members of Turning Point USA, Kirk's group, before the shooting.
David Hull, the investigator, took the stand on the second day of the hearing in Provo, Utah, The New York Times reported. The hearing was expected to last through Friday.
Prosecutors must convince the judge there is enough evidence to try Robinson, 23, for Kirk's shooting in September on the Utah Valley University campus. They intend to seek the death penalty.
The defense was also reviewing evidence and plans to call and question witnesses. Defense lawyers have been questioning witnesses thus far about security for the event in September, The Times said.
