July 7 (UPI) -- A bear that came within feet of a young boy playing in his family's Connecticut driveway was chased off by the boy's protective pet dog.
A video shared by Torrington resident Jeff Tazzara shows a bear run onto the driveway while the boy is playing, and the family's husky rushes into action to chase the bear away, even giving it a nip on the rear-end.
The boy and dog were not injured.
Tazzara said the canine earned a special treat.
"[The dog] always puts herself in between strangers and the kids, but you always wonder in the back of your head, 'What's gonna happen if she needs to protect us?' And now we know, probably a t-bone or something like that, she'll get to enjoy," Tazzara told WTNH-TV.
