Inspira Global, through its F&B arm, Lenexis Foodworks Private Ltd, has completed the acquisition of a 41.78 per cent controlling stake in Restaurant Brands Asia Ltd, the operator of Burger King in India and Popeyes in Indonesia.“The transaction has been completed following the successful conclusion of the mandatory open offer, receipt of the requisite regulatory approvals and fulfilment of customary closing conditions, in accordance with applicable regulations,” Restaurant Brands Asia said in a statement on Tuesday.“With a total investment of about ₹2,235 crore, the transaction marks one of the largest transactions in the Indian quick-service restaurant segment. Following the transaction, Inspira Global owns 41.78 per cent of the Company,” it added.Upon exercise of all warrants, Inspira Global’s total shareholding in the Company would increase to 48.04 per cent upon the infusion of additional Rs 450 Crore into the Company.Board reconstituted following the acquisitionThe company’s board has approved the appointment of Madhusudan Agrawal as Chairman of the board and Aayush Agrawal as non-executive director.Madhusudan Agrawal, Chairman, Restaurant Brands Asia Limited, said, “Today marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Restaurant Brands Asia.
