Alongside destinations especially popular among Israeli travelers, such as Tenerife, Mallorca, and Santorini, the list also includes several lesser-known islands that could become the rising stars of summer 2026.The travel company Saga Holidays examined 80 islands across Europe and ranked them according to three main criteria: Weather, the selection of restaurants and cafés, and the amount of green space available. Each category was given a different weighting, with nature and green areas accounting for 45% of the final score, weather for 35%, and culinary options for 20%.Topping the list is Tenerife, one of Spain’s Canary Islands, which received the highest score - 95 out of 100. According to the researchers, the combination of pleasant weather almost all year round, spectacular volcanic landscapes, diverse beaches, and a rich culinary scene made it the most recommended island in Europe.Madeira, Portugal. Third place went to Madeira in Portugal, a destination that continues to grow in popularity thanks to its ancient forests, hiking trails, and mild climate for most of the year.Croatia also stands out in the ranking, with no fewer than four islands appearing in the top ten: Korčula, Mljet, Lošinj, and Brač. In the weather category, the Canary Islands dominated, with Tenerife, La Gomera, and Gran Canaria taking the top three spots. In terms of culinary offerings, Capri and Sardinia in Italy led the ranking, alongside Santorini in Greece.
