Classical music programme to be held in Mangaluru’s Town Hall on July 12

Sitarist Sanjeev Korti from Bengaluru will perform in ‘Rimjhim’, the classical music programme, hosted by the Sangeet Bharati Foundation at the Town Hall in Mangaluru on July 12.

A Hindustani vocal concert by Pandit Shashank Makthedar from Goa will be part of ‘Rimjhim’, the classical music programme, hosted by the Sangeet Bharati Foundation at the Town Hall in Mangaluru on July 12.

The Sangeet Bharati Foundation is set to organise ‘Rimjhim’, a classical music programme featuring a sitar recital by Sanjeev Korti from Bengaluru and a vocal recital by Pandit Shashank Makthedar from Goa, at Mangaluru’s Kudmul Ranga Rao Town Hall on July 12.The programme will begin at 5.30 p.m. with the sitar recital, followed by a Hindustani vocal recital. The performers will be accompanied by Mayank Bedekar on the tabla and Guruprasad Hegde on the harmonium.In a press note, the foundation said ‘Rimjhim’ was the first in a series of music programmes to be held this year to promote and preserve the country’s classical music heritage.
