The Duke of Sussex has arrived at an event in Central London for the Invictus Games Foundation, just hours after touching down in his home country14:29, 07 Jul 2026Updated 14:47, 07 Jul 2026Prince Harry arrives at Chatham House Prince Harry has kicked off his first event of a five-day visit to the UK, making his way to Central London for an Invictus Games Foundation event at Chatham House. The Duke of Sussex arrived 25 minutes ahead of time, looking pensive as he greeted his PR guru Miranda Barbot and his security guard Christopher Sanchez.‌The private conference is a key part of the “One Year to Go” celebrations for the Invictus Games being staged in Birmingham in 2027. The event is bringing together members of the Invictus community, leading experts and policymakers, including UK minister for veterans and people Calvin Bailey, to discuss issues affecting wounded, injured and sick service personnel and veterans – all those eligible to take part in the paralympic-style games.‌‌The event began around the same time Harry was awaiting the verdict from his High Court case against ANL, as it is understood he was waiting in a reading room at Chatham House when the result was due to come through. The High Court shared that Harry had lost his case against ANL, with the judge dismissing all of the 97 allegations made by the claimants.Inside the event, chair of the Invictus Games Foundation Lord Charles Allen, CBE, introduced Harry to the stage just moments after the verdict was delivered, as he thanked the audience for coming before joking that "this is one of the few rooms in the UK that has air conditioning!"Harry said during his address: "Looking around this room, I see people representing different nations, different governments, different militaries, different organisations and different approaches to recovery. And that's exactly as it should be.‌"No two countries are the same. No two healthcare systems are the same. No two military cultures are the same. What brings us together is far more important than what sets us apart."Every one of us believes that those who have served their country – and in particular those whose lives have been changed by that service – deserve more than our gratitude. They deserve opportunity. The chance to redefine one’s Purpose and Identity. They deserve to truly feel our admiration and Respect. And they deserve every chance to build the life they choose beyond military service. That's what the Invictus Community is all about."‌Harry concluded: "I hope you leave this conference with a deeper understanding of what the Invictus movement really is. Not simply a week of sport every few years, but a community united by one belief: that the unconquered human spirit exists in every nation and that our shared responsibility is to create the conditions in which it can flourish."Later this week, Harry will travel to Birmingham to mark the official one year countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games, which will bring his UK trip to a close.‌Meanwhile, just 12 miles away, Harry’s estranged brother Prince William undertook an engagement of his own, heading to Ysgol Gymraeg Llundain, also known as The London Welsh School, in Hanwell, West London. The Prince of Wales arrived at the same time Harry’s event in Chatham House kicked off, as William joined pupils in sending their best wishes to Team Wales ahead of the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.‌Despite Harry and William being in such close proximity, it is understood the brothers will not be meeting while the Duke is in the UK, as their rift remains.Harry arrived in the UK last night, stepping out just hours later to support a friend at a film festival. The Duke of Sussex headed to Central London last night where he was photographed at the ‘Shoot The People’ UK Premiere in the VIP arrivals section. The film, playing at Picturehouse Central, centres around Harry’s friend Misan Harriman, the chairman of the Southbank Centre, with whom he smiled alongside as they posed for photos.‌Misan has been close to Harry and his wife Meghan for many years, famously photographing their announcement that they were expecting Lilibet back in 2021. Harry arrived in the UK without his wife Meghan Markle and their children, Archie and Lilibet, just hours after his accommodation offer at Buckingham Palace was revoked.Article continues belowWhen the visit to the UK was first announced, the Mirror reported that Harry had been offered to stay in a royal residence while in his home country by invitation of the King, with Buckingham Palace being on offer. The prince's spokesperson said on Monday morning that Harry had accepted an offer to stay at the Palace for part of his visit. However, the Palace has since said this would not be the case as the accommodation is no longer available.
