A final-year degree student allegedly died by suicide by jumping into Sankey Tank at Sadashivanagar after sending a message to her male friend indicating that she was going to end her life.The deceased has been identified as Tejaswi, a student of a private college at Chikkabanavara. According to the police, she left her college on Monday (July 6) afternoon and later messaged her friend saying that she was heading to Sankey Tank and intended to end her life.Investigators said Tejaswi reached Sankey Tank at around 4 p.m. She reportedly left her bag near the lake entrance, kept her mobile phone inside it, and then entered the lake.After receiving the message, the friend informed Tejaswi’s family about it. Her mother subsequently alerted the Sadashivanagar police, following which the police and family members launched a search operation.Her body was recovered from the lake during the early hours of Tuesday (July 7).The preliminary investigation indicates that Tejaswi had left college earlier in the day and was later seen at a bakery before arriving at Sankey Tank.
