As she begins what is expected to be a week-long recovery in hospital, he said “the tears just won’t stop”.Speaking to Sinar Harian at Banting Hospital, Mohd Firuz Ibrahim said his daughter had been moved out of the intensive care unit (ICU) after surgery and was now under close observation as she continued her recovery.“My daughter is still traumatised. The tears just won’t stop flowing,” he said.Mohd Firuz said doctors and nurses were continuing to monitor the teenager’s condition.“This morning, thank God, she looks more stable, and she told me she doesn’t feel too much pain anymore.“The tube will remain in her lung for another two or three days. The doctors will remove it once they are satisfied the bleeding has stopped.“She was admitted to the ICU yesterday and transferred to a general ward last night after spending four hours in surgery,” he said, according to the national daily.He added that his daughter had started talking again and was able to drink and eat light meals.Asked when she might be discharged, Mohd Firuz said doctors expected she would remain in hospital for at least a week, depending on her recovery.“As a father, it is heartbreaking to see your child like this.“We have never even hit her. Even a small cut is painful, let alone being stabbed. What’s happened has happened, and we accept it with patience and faith,” he said.The stabbing occurred at about 9.30am yesterday while the victim was at the school’s canteen.Police said the 15-year-old suspect, who is also a student at the school, allegedly entered the school through the main entrance before stabbing the victim multiple times.The victim was rushed to Banting Hospital, while the suspect was arrested shortly after the incident.Kuala Langat district police chief Superintendent Mohd Akmalrizal Radzi said the 15-year-old suspect has been remanded for four days until Friday to assist investigations under Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder.
