Anthony Buyinza Mugeere is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Sociology & Anthropology, School of Social Sciences, Makerere University (Uganda). He specialises in teaching and research in health, disability and climate change studies.
Holding a PhD in Sociology, he has conducted sociological studies on various health, environmental and climate issues, published a number of academic papers in peer-reviewed journals, and contributed chapters in books. He has also been part of research teams that authored several research papers and policy briefs for environment and health advocacy at national and international levels.
Dr Mugeere obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences at Makerere University, then a Master’s degree in Sociology. He also studied and practised journalism, winning local and international awards as a reporter and writer on the Education & Health desk at the New Vision, Uganda’s leading daily newspaper.
