A Victorian council employee who wanted to work from home for four days a week in part because he had “work-related fatigue” due to his age has had his request denied after taking his case to the national workplace umpire.
Steven Polak, a planning and building liaison officer with Macedon Shire Council, north of Melbourne, told his employer he was experiencing “work-related fatigue as an incident of his age and work demands” and wanted to extend his three days of remote work to four.
