A woman suspected of being connected to the attempted assassination of sanctioned Ukrainian businessman Vadym Yermolaiev in Monaco has been found dead near Kyiv, according to sources within Ukraine's law enforcement cited by Ukrainska Pravda.
The sources said the woman's body was discovered at around 11:00 p.m. on July 6. She had been shot dead. Investigators are now examining the circumstances surrounding her death as part of the broader investigation into the high-profile attack in Monaco.
According to the same sources, the woman had been outside Ukraine from March 22, 2025, until returning on July 1, 2026, only days before her body was found.
A separate law enforcement source told Ukrainska Pravda that two other suspects have already been taken into custody. One of those detained is an active officer with Ukraine's Defense Intelligence, while the second is a former law enforcement official. Authorities have not disclosed the specific allegations against either suspect.
The case stems from an explosion that occurred at around 9:00 p.m. on June 29 in Monaco, where three people were injured, two of them critically. According to media reports, Yermolaiev and individuals close to him were among those wounded in the blast.
